You can find Deepak Textile Company at No. 4/a in the Latiwala Chambers. We are tucked behind Sakar Bazar, right near Danapith. The address sounds a bit complicated because the building is in an older part of the area with lots of narrow lanes and busy corners. It took me a while to learn all the shortcuts when I first started working here. Our office is on the ground floor, which is good for moving the heavy fabric rolls in and out. The walls are lined with old wooden shelves that have been there since the business started. We have a lot of different types of cloth, and sometimes I forget exactly what is buried in the back of the stacks. It is a bit of a treasure hunt sometimes when a customer asks for something old. The neighborhood is very traditional and friendly. We know the shopkeepers next door and we look out for each other's places. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. We just rely on people knowing where we are and coming in to see what we have in person. Sometimes we sit out front when it is not too hot and watch the world go by on the street. It is a slow and steady kind of business. We aren't in a rush to change how things are done. The building is old but sturdy. We just keep our records in big ledgers and do things the old way.
