If you're driving down the Rajula Highway, you'll see us. Jalaram Cotex Pvt. Ltd. is right there. It’s a dusty spot sometimes because of all the trucks passing by, but it’s home for us. We handle cotton, which means there’s always a bit of lint flying around in the air during the busy season. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the books and take calls. Being on the highway makes it easy for the farmers to bring their loads in. Most of the guys working here have been around for years. We know the local rhythms. When the harvest hits, nobody gets much sleep. We just keep the machines running and the gates open. It’s loud, and it gets hot, but that’s just how the cotton business is. We don't spend money on fancy signs or shiny furniture. That’s not what we’re about. We’re about getting the cotton processed and moved out to wherever it’s going next. My hands are usually a bit rough from the work, and the tea we make in the back is probably too strong for most people. But it keeps us going. It’s a plain business for plain people. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. It works for us.
