Bambhaniwadi Primary School

This is the primary school for the Bambhaniwadi area in Bhavnagar. It’s a place for the younger children to start their schooling. We have the small desks and the colorful walls that you usually see in a primary school. It’s located right in the neighborhood, so most of the kids just walk over from their houses. It gets quite loud in the mornings when the children arrive. We have a few teachers who handle the different grades, and we all have to do a bit of everything, from teaching math to making sure everyone has their lunch. The building is basic, just a few rooms and a small courtyard. We spend a lot of time on the basics like reading, writing, and simple counting. Bhavnagar is a busy city, but our corner of it is relatively quiet once the school day begins. We don't have a big budget for fancy things. We use what we have and try to keep the kids engaged with their lessons. Sometimes the fans don't work or the water is slow, but we deal with it as it comes. It's about giving the local children a place to be every day where they can learn something useful. We see the parents at the gate every afternoon. It’s a community school in the truest sense. There is always some cleaning to do or papers to sort out, but that's just how a small school operates in a city like this. We just keep things moving along.
