Annai Bricks

Our place is located at 21, Appakudal Main Road in Brahmadesam. It is right on the main stretch, so there is always a lot of noise from the traffic going by. We spend most of our time out in the sun near the kilns. Bricks are heavy and the work is often dirty, but that is the nature of the business. We have rows of bricks drying out whenever the weather stays clear. If it rains, we have to hurry to cover everything up with plastic sheets as fast as we can. It can be a real mess sometimes. The yard is not very big, but we make use of every inch of space we have available. We started this because there was a need for local materials around here. You might see the red dust on our clothes if you drop by in the middle of the day. We take a break under the shade of the small tree near the entrance when things get quiet. The trucks pull in from the main road and it takes a while to load them up properly. We do not have a big office or anything like that. Just a small room with a few chairs and a fan that squeaks. It is a simple operation. We just focus on making sure the bricks are ready when someone needs them for a project. Brahmadesam is a quiet town, except for the road noise, and we like being part of the community here.
