Shreeji Bricks

Shreeji Bricks is located right near the Nareshwar Railway Station in Bholav. Being so close to the tracks means we hear the trains rattling by all day long. It's something you eventually stop noticing after a few weeks of working here. Our place is at Nareshwar Chokdi, right on the Station Road. It’s a good spot because people can find us easily when they are heading into town. The yard is usually full of stacks of bricks waiting to be picked up. We spend a lot of time outside, regardless of if it is boiling hot or if there is a breeze coming off the station side. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us handling the phone calls and making sure the loaders are doing their job right. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh when a customer tries to fit too many bricks into a small car. We have to tell them it’s not going to work. Working at the Chokdi means we see all sorts of people passing through Bholav. Some just want a few bricks for a small repair at home, and others are looking for thousands. We treat everyone the same, really. We just want to get the bricks out of the yard and onto the job site so we have room for the next batch. It’s a repetitive job but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. There is always something to stack or move around.
