We’re based over at 26 Naheru Nager Society in Jambusar. It’s a quiet little corner of Gujarat, away from all the big city noise. Working with glass means we have to be pretty careful, so our workspace for Shott Glass India Pvt.Ltd is full of crates and bubble wrap. It’s not a large factory, just a decent-sized place where we manage our operations. The society itself is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise when we’re loading up the trucks in the morning. Sometimes the narrow roads make it a bit tricky for the larger delivery vehicles to navigate the turns, but we’ve figured out the best spots for them to park without blocking everyone. The weather here can get quite humid, which makes the work a bit tiring during the afternoons. We usually take a long lunch break when it’s hottest. Most of the people working here are from Jambusar or the nearby towns. We don't really do much in the way of advertising; we just focus on getting the glass orders out to the people who need them. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. There’s no big corporate hierarchy here. If something needs doing, whoever is free just grabs a pair of gloves and gets to it. It’s a very practical environment and we don’t spend much time on fancy meetings or long reports. It just works.
