Employment Services

Our office is over at A/101 in Shiv Appartment. It is part of the Somnath Society in Tarsadi Kosamba. Being in Surat district, we get a lot of local folks coming in looking for work. Employment Services is just the name on the door. We spend most of our time looking at resumes and talking to people about what they can do. The apartment is a quiet place usually. Sometimes the phone rings more than we can answer. Kosamba is a small town, so everyone kind of knows each other anyway. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the files pile up on the desk. It is a simple setup. Just a couple of chairs and a computer. We are not a big agency with flashy signs. You just come up to the first floor and find us. We deal with all sorts of jobs, whatever comes our way. The weather gets pretty hot in Gujarat, so we keep the fan running all day. People stop by after they finish their morning chores. We listen to their stories and see if there is any opening that fits. It is a lot of talking. Sometimes it is a bit slow. But we stay here until the evening. If you live in Somnath Society, you probably walk past us every day. We just do what we can to help people find a decent living and keep the paperwork moving along as best we can.
