If you walk down toward Neem Da Gate in Bharatpur, you will find us tucked into Vakil Colony. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the main market, but things get pretty lively inside our walls. We have been working out of this space for some time now. There are desks crowded with papers and old files everywhere you look. People are always coming and going, mostly reporters or folks from the neighborhood with something on their mind. The building isn't brand new, so there’s always a squeaky door or a window that sticks when you try to open it for some fresh air. We don't really have a reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and find someone to talk to. Bharatpur gets really hot in the summer, and we all huddle near the coolers to stay focused on the work. The pin code is 321001 if you are trying to mail us something, though most people just stop by. There is a lot of noise when the newspapers arrive or when the phones start ringing all at once. It feels like a real place where work actually happens. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. As long as the lights stay on and the tea is hot, we are doing alright. It’s just a group of us trying to keep up with the daily news and the local community.
