Working in Peenya 3rd Stage means you are surrounded by engineering shops and heavy metal work. X L CNC Machines is located at number 78, and it’s basically a workshop where we deal with machine tools and parts. The main thing here is the sound of the CNC machines humming and the smell of cutting oil. It’s a very industrial environment, not much to look at from the outside, just a gate and a lot of metal. Inside, we have our machines set up, and there’s usually a bit of grease on everything. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and adjusting the settings to get the measurements right. It’s precision work but in a very rough setting. The traffic in Peenya can be a nightmare, so getting parts delivered or sending them out always takes longer than you think. We don't have a fancy reception area. If someone comes to see us, they usually just walk into the main floor where all the action is happening. Most of the guys here wear overalls that have seen better days. We do a lot of small-batch work for other factories in the area. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean, but it’s satisfying to see a raw piece of metal turn into a finished part. We just focus on the machines and making sure they don’t break down in the middle of a job. It's noisy and dirty but we get the parts made and that is how we spend our days.
