If you look for us on Bannerghatta Road, we are right across from the IIM-B campus. The Emaiya Echo Department is where we spend most of our time. It’s a busy part of the hospital and things move pretty fast around here most days. You can hear the sounds of the machines and the constant walking of nurses and doctors in the hallways. We have these rooms set up for the heart tests and the monitors are always blinking or making noise. It is not a place that ever really sleeps. Even late at night, there are people coming through the doors. The staff here mostly just focuses on getting the scans done correctly so the doctors have what they need to look at for the patients. We see a lot of different people every day, some looking worried and others just waiting for their turn in the plastic chairs. The traffic outside on the main road is usually pretty loud, but inside we try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking charts and making sure the equipment is clean and ready for the next person who comes in. We don’t have much time for sitting around. Usually, we just grab a quick tea when there’s a gap between the scheduled appointments. It’s a big building, but our specific department feels like its own little world once you are inside. We just stay busy.
