Reliance Plastics is over in Mahadevapura, specifically at No. 24 on the 4th Main. We are right opposite V. S. T. Tillers, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find our gate. The post office is also very nearby, so we see the mail carriers every day. The building is an older one, and it shows its age in some of the cracks in the walls and the way the heavy doors creak on their hinges. We have rows of machines that turn plastic pellets into different shapes and items. It gets quite warm in the middle of the day because of the heaters on the injection machines. We usually keep the big sliding doors open to let some air in from the street, even if it brings in some noise. There’s always a pile of large sacks filled with raw plastic beads near the entrance. The guys working the machines have a good rhythm down, and they don’t really need someone watching over them all the time. We have a small office with a plain wooden desk and a couple of old chairs for anyone who drops by. It’s a very straightforward operation. We don’t do any advertising; people just know we are here because we’ve been at this spot on Whitefield Road for a long time. The traffic outside on the main road is always moving, but inside it’s just the sound of the presses. It’s a simple business run by people who have been doing this for a while.
