Vision Tools & Designs is located on Magadi Ashram Road at number 9. We’ve been here for a while, dealing with various types of tool making and design work. The shop is basically a workshop with some drawing tables in the front section. It’s a bit of a walk from the main transport hubs, but it’s a good spot for us because we need the space for the lathes and the cutting equipment. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings or wood dust depending on what we’re working on that day. I handle most of the design stuff on the computer while the guys out back take care of the actual fabrication. It’s a loud place, so we usually have to shout to be heard over the grinders. Magadi Ashram Road has changed a lot since we moved in, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We take on all sorts of odd jobs, from making specific parts for machines to helping someone with a custom project they’ve got going. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a fancy showroom. We just show people what we’re working on right there on the shop floor. It’s practical work for people who need things built right. We keep regular hours, but often stay late if a big project is nearing its deadline. It’s just the nature of the business we’re in, where deadlines matter more than anything.
