Vijayalakshmi Enterprisese

You can find us over at Sivan Chetty Gardens on Nala Road, right at number 41. It is an interesting part of town because it is so close to everything but still feels like its own little world. The road can get a bit congested, especially when the trucks are trying to squeeze through, but we manage. Operating out of this small space has been our reality for quite a while now. The name on the board is Vijayalakshmi Enterprisese, and most of the locals just call us by that. Inside, it is a bit cluttered with all the things we carry, but a system exists that only we really understand. A lot of time goes into organizing and re-organizing the shelves. The light isn't the best in the back of the shop, but the layout is known by heart. A mix of people walks in, from students to retirees who live in the nearby lanes. Usually, the radio plays in the background to keep things from being too quiet. It’s a straightforward business. No website or online presence exists for us; we just rely on people seeing the shop when they walk or drive by. Some days are long, and some are short, depending on how many people need help. We just take it as it comes and try to stay organized. It is just a matter of showing up and doing the work as honestly as possible.
