Vijay Stones & Marbles

If you head down to 17/4 Lakkasandra, near Mico Layout, you will find our yard. We have been working with stones and marbles here for quite some time. The yard is usually filled with large slabs of granite and marble propped up on wooden frames. It is a heavy business, and you have to be careful where you walk. We use a lot of water to clean the slabs so people can see the real color and the veins in the stone, so the ground is often a bit wet. It is a dusty place because of all the cutting and polishing that happens nearby. We are not a fancy retail store with air conditioning. It is mostly an open space where the wind blows through. People come by to pick out pieces for their home projects, and we spend time walking around the yard with them. Sometimes the slabs are buried behind others, and we have to use the crane or some muscle to move them out. Lakkasandra is a busy neighborhood, and we are just another local business making a living. We keep our ledgers on a small desk under a fan. It is hard work, especially when the sun is out, but we are used to it. We just show up, move the stones, and help the customers who find us. It’s a simple way to spend the day and we like the work.
