Stonarts

We've got our little shop called Stonarts over in Viveknagar, right at the corner of 1st Main and 1st Cross. It's been there for years, and most people in the neighborhood know the sign. It’s a bit of a messy place, to be honest. We have slabs of stone and bits of projects leaning against the walls. There's always dust in the air from cutting and polishing, which gets everywhere. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. It's just a workspace where we get things done. Bangalore has changed so much around us, but this little corner of Viveknagar stays pretty much the same. We have a few guys who have been working with us forever. They know how to handle the material better than anyone. We get customers who come in with a rough idea of what they want, and we just talk it through over a cup of tea. It's a noisy street, so we have to yell a bit over the traffic sometimes. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us by just walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor who had some work done. It’s hard work, lifting heavy stuff all day, but it’s what we do. The floor is always covered in scraps, and we clean up as best as we can at the end of the day. It’s simple work.
