Venkat Sai Granites

Our yard is located at 124/2 Jayanagar, right along the Varachha Road here in Surat. We are pretty close to the Ganesha Temple, so most people use that as a landmark when they are trying to find Venkat Sai Granites. It is a bit of a crowded area with a lot of traffic passing by, but we have enough space for the slabs and the cutting machines. We spend most of our time out in the yard moving heavy stones around. It’s hard work and your hands get rough, but it is what we know. My brother and I started this after working for other people for years. We decided it was better to have our own small spot. We don't have a big sales team or a glossy catalog. We just show people what we have in stock at the moment. Some days we have a lot of granite, other days the inventory looks a bit thin depending on the deliveries. The weather in Surat gets really hot, so we take a long break in the afternoon when the sun is at its peak. We usually sit under the shed with some tea. Customers come in with their measurements on scraps of paper, and we try to help them find something that fits their budget. It's not a complicated business. We just cut the stone, load it up, and move on to the next task. It's just a regular way to spend the day.
