Dr. Veena Thejaswi is based at number 24 in the HMT Layout of Mathikere. The clinic is specifically on the 1st Cross. It’s a fairly easy place to find once you get into the layout. Mathikere is a busy area, but this particular street stays relatively calm compared to the main market roads. We see a mix of students from the nearby colleges and older residents who have been in HMT Layout for decades. The clinic isn't very big. It’s basically a converted part of a house. There’s a small desk and some chairs for people to sit while they wait. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just a place where you can come to get checked out when you’re not feeling your best. The 1st Cross has some nice trees that provide shade in the afternoons, which is good when people have to wait outside. Sometimes the doorbell sticks a little, so you might have to press it twice to get our attention. We do our best to stay organized, but sometimes paperwork piles up on the desk. It’s a very local operation. We know many of our patients by their first names. Being a doctor here means being part of the community. We don't spend money on big advertisements. People usually find out about us from their neighbors or by walking past the gate on their way to the shop. It's just a quiet neighborhood practice.
