Our place is located in R M Nagar, which is a fairly crowded part of Bangalore these days. We’ve been here serving the local community for a bit. It’s a health center, so things are usually kept quite clean, but it has that typical clinic smell. People come in with all sorts of small problems or just for a checkup. We have a front desk that stays pretty busy with appointments and files. The waiting area has some old magazines and chairs that have seen better days. It’s not a giant hospital, just a local branch where we try to help people out. The staff knows a lot of the regulars by name. We see a lot of families from the surrounding streets. R M Nagar has grown a lot, so there’s always more traffic outside our doors now. We just do our shifts and make sure the doctors have what they need. It’s straightforward work. We don’t use a lot of big medical words if we don’t have to. We just want to make sure people get what they came for and can head back home. Sometimes the wait is a bit long if we’re short-staffed, but we do what we can. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We’re just part of the neighborhood, really. Everyone knows where we are and what we do. It is a quiet existence here.
