Our other spot for Urban Raga is located at JP Nagar, specifically on Nowroji Hill Road Number 9, at house 16. This neighborhood has a different feel to it, maybe a bit more relaxed than the busier parts of the city. We’ve set things up here so we can focus on our music work without too many distractions. The rooms are filled with the basic stuff we need—some chairs, music stands, and a few instruments tucked into the corners. It’s not a high-end studio by any means; it’s a practical place where people actually put in the work to learn. We often have to move things around to make space for a group, and the floor usually has a few stray cables lying about. We try to keep things tidy, but when you’re busy with lessons and practice, things tend to get a bit messy. The staff here is just a small group of us who enjoy what we do. We don’t have fancy titles or a big management structure. We just open up in the morning, sweep the front step, and get started with whatever is on the calendar for the day. It’s a simple way to spend the hours, and we like being part of the JP Nagar area. Every day brings someone new through the door, and we just take things as they come at number 16.
