About The Taj – Hotels, Motel & Resorts in Bengaluru
Kalasipalyam Main Road is always crowded, and we are right in the middle of it near City Market. The Taj has been here for years. It stays noisy from early morning until we close up at night. There are always trucks moving and people shouting outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter but not by much. We serve a lot of laborers and shop owners from the market. They don't have much time, so they want their food fast. We don't have a fancy menu or anything. It's just the stuff we know how to make well. The kitchen is small and gets very hot in the summer. I spend most of my day behind the counter. My father used to do this before me. We haven't changed much about the place since then. The tiles are a bit chipped in the corners. We use big metal pots for everything. It’s a messy business running a kitchen in this part of town. You get used to the smell of the market and the dust. Sometimes we run out of water and have to wait for the tanker. That’s just how it is here. We don't have a website or anything like that. People know where we are. If you walk down the main road, you can't miss us. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s honest and it keeps the family going. It's hard to explain but we are happy with what we have.
