The Richmond Hotel

The Richmond Hotel is tucked away on Dorab Seth Road at number 335. Mr. K. Palani runs the place and you’ll usually see him or one of the regular staff members hanging around the lobby. Bangalore is a big city but our little corner feels a bit more settled. It’s an older building, so it has those thick walls and a certain feel you don't get with the new glass structures popping up everywhere. We have rooms for travelers coming through for work or just visiting family. It isn't a five-star luxury resort with gold taps, but the beds are clean and the fans work. People mostly come here because it’s a convenient spot in the 560047 zip code area. We have some regulars who stay every time they are in town for business. The morning traffic on Dorab Seth Road can be something else, but inside it stays mostly quiet. We don't have a giant marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a small team making sure guests have a place to sleep and a key that works. Sometimes we run out of the good tea in the morning, but we always get more from the shop down the street.
