The Leela Palace

The Leela Palace is sitting right here on Airport Road in Bangalore. If you know the 560008 area, you know how the traffic gets around here, especially with the planes and all the people rushing to catch flights at all hours. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The building is big and takes up a lot of space on 23 Airport Road. Inside, it is mostly us just trying to keep things moving and making sure everyone who walks through the doors is sorted out. It’s not always quiet, but that is just how it goes in a city like this. Most days start early before the sun is even fully up because the road gets so busy. We see all kinds of people coming in from the airport or heading out that way. Some are tired and others are just in a hurry to get to a meeting. We just do our jobs and try to keep the place looking decent for them. The staff mostly lives nearby or takes the bus in from other parts of Bangalore. We have our routines, like getting tea in the morning and checking the schedule for the day. It is a lot of work to manage a place this size, but we are used to the rhythm of it now. Bangalore changes so much every year, but this corner on Airport Road stays pretty much the same for us. We just focus on what needs doing today and then we do it again tomorrow. It’s a job like any other, just in a very large building.
