The Leela Palace

Our office is tucked away at 128, 1st Cross, over in the GDP Extension of Vualikaval. It’s a pretty specific part of Bangalore, 560 003, and it’s where we handle the day-to-day things for The Leela Palace from this side of town. It’s on the 3rd Main road, so it’s not too hard to find if you know the neighborhood well. We aren't in a giant skyscraper or anything. It’s a more low-key spot where the staff gets together to sort out the logistics. Some of us have been working here for years and we know the tea shop on the corner better than our own kitchens. The work involves a lot of coordinating and making sure everything is where it should be. It gets a bit cramped when we have all the files out, but it works for us. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we’re mostly busy with the actual tasks at hand. People sometimes get confused by the address if they aren't from around Vualikaval, but once you find the 1st Cross, you’re basically there. We keep the doors open and just get on with the business. It’s a straightforward operation. No big speeches or corporate talk here, just a group of people trying to keep things organized. We like the pace of this area. It feels like a real community rather than just a business district where nobody knows your name.
