The Chancery Pavilion

The Chancery Pavilion sits at 135, Residency Road. The 560025 area is known for being loud and crowded, and we are right in the middle of it. Residency Road is one of those places where the traffic just never seems to end. We have a lot of glass at the front, so you can watch the world go by while you’re standing in the lobby. It’s a big building, so there is always something that needs attention. A lightbulb might go out on the fourth floor or a tap might start leaking in a bathroom somewhere. We stay busy. The staff wears uniforms, but we aren't the type to act like we’re better than anyone else. We’re just workers trying to make sure the guests have what they need. The kitchen stays open late because people often arrive at odd hours of the night. You can hear the hum of the refrigerators and the distant sound of the city even when it’s two in the morning. We have a lot of meetings happening in the side rooms during the week. People in suits come in with their briefcases and stay for a few hours. Then they leave and we have to reset all the chairs. It’s a cycle that repeats every day. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just open the doors in the morning and do the work that is required.
