The Chancery Pavilion

The BDA flats are a bit older, so the office has that lived-in feel. Being on the 4th Cross in 560047, we are right in the middle of a lot of activity. It’s a simple setup at No 840. We have some desks pushed against the walls to make more space. There’s a small kitchen area where we make tea several times a day. We deal with all the admin tasks that keep the main place running. It’s not the kind of office you’d find in a glossy magazine. There are stacks of paper everywhere and the printer is always running out of ink at the wrong time. We know the other people in the building, mostly families. Sometimes you can hear kids playing outside while we’re trying to finish the accounts. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of environment. We don't have a reception desk, just a main door that stays shut most of the time. We aren't looking for walk-in business here. It’s strictly for the staff to get the paperwork done. The lighting isn't the best, so we have a few extra lamps on the desks. It’s just a basic, hard-working office in a regular part of Bangalore. We’ve been here for a long time and we’re used to the quirks of the building. Sometimes the lift doesn't work so we have to walk up, but it's only a few floors. It’s just a standard part of the day for the team here. We keep the kettle going for most of the afternoon.
