Teju Tiles & Granites

Down in Doddaballapur, in the Tambe Nagar area, you’ll find our yard on S N Road. We are quite close to the Ayyappa Temple, which makes it easy for people to find where we are located. Teju Tiles & Granites is basically a big space filled with heavy stone and stacks of tiles. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, most of us have a layer of stone grit on our clothes. We spend our time moving slabs of granite around and helping people pick out what they need for their floors or walls. The sun can get pretty hot out in the yard, so we try to do the heavy lifting in the morning if we can. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning and soft music. It’s just a practical place where you can see the actual materials as they are. Sometimes the slabs are heavy and it takes a couple of us to move them safely. We’ve got all sorts of colors and patterns scattered around. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We like the physical nature of the work. It’s satisfying to see a truck loaded up with stone and heading off to a new house. We’ve been part of the Doddaballapur community for a bit, and we’re used to the pace of life on S N Road. It's hard work but it's okay.
