If you ever find yourself near Jambu Savari Dinne Circle in J. P. Nagar, you’ve probably passed by our shop. Swapna Doors And Windows is right in the 8th Phase, which is a part of Bangalore that is constantly under construction these days. There is always a layer of sawdust on the floor here no matter how many times we sweep it up. We have all kinds of door frames and window shutters leaning against the walls. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have a lot of stock delivered. Customers come in looking for something sturdy for their new houses and we just show them what we have in the back. The traffic around the circle gets really bad in the evenings so we usually try to get our deliveries out early in the morning. It’s mostly just us chatting with the neighbors and helping people pick out what they need. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a workshop feel where you can see the wood being handled. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three people want to talk at once and the phone is ringing. We just handle one thing at a time. It’s a local business and most people around here know us by now. The tea stall next door is where we usually take our breaks. It’s just a normal day of measuring and moving heavy wood.
