Surabhi Ceramics

Surabhi Ceramics is located at Hgcvh. It’s a bit of a short address, but that’s where we are set up. Our shop isn't very big, but we try to keep a decent variety of ceramic items on the shelves. Most days it’s just me and one other person here. We spend a lot of time dusting the displays and re-arranging the tiles so people can see the different patterns. The building we are in is quite old and has its quirks, like a door that squeaks every time someone walks in. We don’t really have a big fancy sign, just a simple one so people know they’ve found the right place. Working with ceramics means you have to be careful not to drop anything, so we are always moving slowly when we carry the boxes. It’s a quiet business for the most part, except for when we get a big delivery and have to clear space on the floor. We get a mix of people coming in—some just looking for a few replacement tiles and others starting a whole bathroom project. We just show them what we have in the back. It’s a very straightforward way of working. We don't use any high-tech systems, just a pen and a notebook to keep track of what goes out. It works for us and has for a long time now. We try to be helpful without being pushy about it.
