Supreme Marbles & Granites Co.

Our yard is right on Nelson Manickam Road in Mehta Nagar. It's a dusty place because of all the stone cutting, but that's just part of the business at Supreme Marbles & Granites Co. We spend most of our mornings moving heavy slabs around with the crane. Some of the granite pieces are really heavy and you have to be careful. People come by 117 all the time to look at different patterns for their floors or kitchens. We have stuff from all over, different colors and textures. It’s hard work, and our clothes are usually covered in white dust by noon. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit now. It’s loud because of the traffic outside and the saws running inside. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning; it's more of a working warehouse. You walk in and see rows of marble leaning against the walls. We try to keep things organized, but when a new shipment comes in, it gets a bit chaotic. Our hands are rough from handling the stone. Sometimes customers bring in small sketches of their houses on scraps of paper. We just look at them and show them what might work. It's a straightforward way of doing things. No big sales pitches here. Just heavy stone and lots of cutting. Mehta Nagar is a busy area, so there's always something happening outside our gate. We just focus on the slabs and the orders.
