Sumit Granites

Our shop, Sumit Granites, is right behind the Vodafone Store on B. G. Road. It is a bit tucked away but people find us easily enough once they see the mobile shop. We have been here for a while now, dealing with all kinds of granite slabs. The yard is usually full of different colors and patterns. Most of the time, I am out there with the guys moving pieces around so customers can see the full slab. It’s heavy work and my hands are always a bit rough from the stone. We don't do much talking; we just show what we have in stock. The traffic on B. G. Road is usually heavy, so getting the trucks in and out is always a bit of a task. We have to time it right. We get a mix of builders and regular homeowners coming in. Some know exactly what they want and others take hours looking at every single piece. We don't mind. The slabs are heavy and once they are picked, we get to work on the loading. The office is just a small room where we keep the books. It gets quite hot in the afternoon but the stone keeps the place a bit cooler than the road outside. We focus on getting the slabs moved and making sure the stock is topped up from the quarries. We just do the work and let the stone speak for itself.
