Srinidhi Impex operates out of Peenya Industrial Estate, which is always busy with trucks and heavy machinery. Being at number 20 in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar means we are right in the thick of things. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect anything pretty when you visit us. We spend most of our mornings checking the containers and making sure the paperwork for the imports is actually correct for once. Sometimes there’s a delay at the port and it messes up our whole week, but that’s just the nature of this business. Our office is a bit cramped because we keep using the extra space for storage. We’ve been here long enough that the tea stall guy knows exactly when to bring our tray over. It isn't a flashy life, just a lot of logistics and phone calls. Usually, the phone doesn't stop ringing from ten till six. We have a small team, mostly local guys who know the roads well. Bangalore traffic is a nightmare, so we try to get the loading done before the evening rush hits. If you come by, you’ll probably see us arguing over a shipping manifest or trying to find space for a new shipment that arrived early. We just focus on getting the crates moved and keeping the records straight so we can go home on time, though that rarely happens. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid at the end of the month.
