Sridevi Upahar Hotel

We are Sridevi Upahar Hotel, situated at number 4 in JP Nagar, 560078. It’s a small, straightforward place where we serve south Indian food. JP Nagar has changed a lot since we first opened, with many new buildings coming up, but we've stayed right here. Our space is quite tight, so during the breakfast hour, it can feel a little crowded. People are often standing while they eat their tiffin. We have a heavy iron griddle for the dosas and a large steamer for the idlis. The sound of the grinder in the back is something you get used to after a while. We don’t use fancy plates, just the standard steel ones that we wash in the back sink. Sometimes the tap leaks a bit, so we keep a bucket under it until the plumber can come by next week. The staff consists of just a few of us who have lived in this area for a long time. We know most of our customers by their names or at least by their usual orders. We don't have a lot of variety on the menu because we prefer to stick to what we know how to make well. It’s just a regular neighborhood hotel where you can get a hot meal without much fuss. We open early and close once the evening snacks are finished. It’s a simple life running a small hotel in the heart of South Bangalore.
