The yard is located at 40 Bommanahalli, right on the 37th B Cross off the 26th Main Road in 9th Block. It is a dusty place, but that is the nature of dealing with crushers and building materials. We spend our days surrounded by piles of gravel, sand, and various stones that go into making the houses around this neighborhood. It is loud when the trucks are coming in to drop off a load or when the machinery is running. We started this because there was so much construction happening in this part of town and people needed a reliable place to get their supplies. We are just a local crew, most of us have been working here for years. We know the weight of different materials just by looking at the pile. It is hard physical work, especially when the sun is out, but we are used to it. The office is just a small room where we keep track of the deliveries and the billing. We don't use any fancy systems, just a pen and paper mostly. People from the nearby sites come by to check the quality of the stone or to ask about the next delivery. We try to be straightforward with everyone. If the truck is going to be late because of traffic on the 26th Main, we say so. We just want to get the materials to the builders so they can finish their work on time.
