Sri Maruthi Granites

We’ve been here at Jigani # 41 A for a good while now. Most days it’s just us moving slabs around and making sure things get loaded onto the trucks right. If you come by, you’ll see the yard is usually a bit dusty because that’s just how it goes when you’re working with granite all day. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and checking for cracks or spots in the stone. We don't really do the fancy showroom thing. It’s mostly just rows of stone and the sound of the crane. People usually stop by when they’re building something new or fixing up a kitchen. We show them what we have in stock at the moment. Sometimes we have a lot of one color and other times we’re waiting on a shipment to arrive. It’s steady work. My boots are usually covered in stone dust by noon, but it’s fine. We know where everything is placed in the yard so if someone asks for something specific, we can find it pretty quick. The sun gets hot out here on the pavement, but we stay busy. It’s a straightforward business. We just deal with the stone and try to keep things organized so the drivers can get in and out without too much trouble. It’s not a complicated setup here, just us and the granite slabs sitting out in the yard under the Jigani sun.
