The main thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the smell of cut metal and the sound of the machines. We have walls covered in hooks, and every single one of them has different types of key blanks hanging there. There’s usually a pile of metal shavings on the floor by the end of the day, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a simple business. Someone comes in with a broken key or needs a spare, and we get to work on the machine. It’s noisy and there isn't much space to stand around. We have a small stool for customers, but most people just wait outside on the pavement while we finish the job. The light in here isn't great, so we have a few extra lamps pointed right at the grinders so we can see what we’re doing. JP Nagar is a good spot, and we get a lot of locals who’ve lost their house keys or need a new lock for their gate. We don't have any fancy computer systems; we just use the old machines that have been with us for years. It’s honest work, and we just focus on getting the cut right for the customer.
