Fedex

The office here on Cunningham Road stays moving pretty much from the moment we open the shutters. Being in Vasanth Nagar means we see all sorts of people coming in with packages and boxes. It’s Fedex, so people expect things to happen fast, but inside it’s just us trying to keep the labels straight and the bins organized. Some days the printer acts up or the internet slows down, but we figure it out. It’s not a big shiny headquarters, just a workspace where we handle the logistics for the neighborhood. We have a lot of regular customers who live nearby and they know us by name now. It gets cramped when a big delivery truck pulls up outside and we have to shuffle things around to make space. We don’t have a fancy lounge or anything like that for visitors. Just some chairs and a counter where we help folks get their stuff sent off. The street outside is always noisy with traffic, but you get used to it after a week or two of working here. We mostly just keep our heads down and scan things into the system. Sometimes we stay late because a shipment was delayed at the airport, and we just grab coffee from the place next door to keep going. It’s honest work and we try to be helpful without making a big deal out of it. It’s just how the day goes for us.
