Sri Lakshmi Granites & Tiles

Our place is at 21 Chikka Banavara, right over by the Kothrud Depot. It is pretty easy to find if you are already in the Santhebeedi area. The shop itself is nothing fancy. Mostly, it is just stacks and stacks of granites and tiles piled up wherever there is room. Dust gets everywhere when we are moving the heavy slabs around, which is just part of the job. We spend a lot of the day just shifting inventory and checking what we have left in stock. It is hard work on the back, and our hands are usually covered in grit by noon. People walk in to see the different types of stone we have out in the yard. We don't really do big sales pitches or anything like that. We just show what is available. When it rains near the depot, the ground gets a bit muddy and it makes moving the bigger pieces quite a chore. We keep the smaller tiles inside the building where it's dry. The setup is simple. There is a desk, a couple of old chairs, and a lot of heavy stone. We know the folks who work nearby. The tea stall on the corner is where we go when things are quiet for a bit. It’s just us here in this part of town, doing our daily work and trying to keep the yard organized.
