Sri Lakshman Marbles

Sri Lakshman Marbles sits at 100/7 on the 1st Main Road in Seshadripuram. This part of the city is always moving and there is never a dull moment. We have slabs of marble and stone stacked up throughout our space. It is a lot of heavy lifting and our hands are usually covered in stone dust by the end of the day. The street outside is narrow, so when a truck comes to deliver new stock, it can be a bit of a challenge for everyone else on the road. We have been in Seshadripuram for quite a while and we like the vibe of the neighborhood. The 1st Main Road has a lot of old shops and familiar faces that we see every day. People walk in all the time just to look at the different patterns in the stones we have on display. We do not have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It is more of a yard where you can see the raw materials and choose what you like. Sometimes the rain makes the stones look even better, though it makes the ground a bit slippery for us. We have a small corner where we sit to talk to people and write out the bills on a wooden desk. It is a straightforward business and we do not try to make it seem like more than it is. We just enjoy working with the stone and being part of this busy street.
