Sri Krishna Marbles

Our shop is on Perumal Koil Street, just off P.H. Road. If you walk by Sri Krishna Marbles, you’ll probably see slabs of stone leaning against the walls. It’s a dusty business, no matter how much we try to sweep up. We’ve got all sorts of marble and granite piled up, and sometimes it's hard to move around in the yard. Most of our time is spent showing people different patterns and explaining why one stone is harder than the other. It’s heavy work, moving these pieces around. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes, helping customers pick out something for their floors or counters. P.H. Road is always noisy with traffic, and that noise carries right into our workspace. We have a small desk in the corner where we do the billing and take notes on what people want. Sometimes a shipment arrives late from the quarry, and we have to tell the customers to wait a few more days. It’s frustrating for everyone, but that’s how it goes with natural stone. We’ve been here at number 291 for a long time. People around here know us as the place to get decent stone without a lot of fuss. We aren't salesman types; we just show you what we have and tell you the price. It’s a simple, honest way to run a shop, and we like it that way.
