The office here at Spm India Ltd is located at G.D. House, which is number 132/52 in Bendre Nagar. If you’re coming down Subramanyapura Main Road, you have to keep an eye out for the turn onto Subhashchandra Bose Road. It’s a busy part of B.S.K. 2nd Stage here in Bangalore, so there is always something going on outside our windows. The traffic can be a nightmare in the evenings, but we’ve grown used to the sound of horns and engines. We occupy a fair bit of space in the building, and it’s mostly filled with files, old desks, and the usual office clutter. It’s not one of those glass buildings you see in the tech parks. It is a real place with some dust on the shelves and chairs that have been sat in for a decade. We come in early, drink a lot of coffee, and try to get through the paperwork and technical tasks before the sun goes down. Sometimes the internet acts up, or a lightbulb flickers for a week before anyone bothers to change it. We focus on the daily grind. Being in Bangalore, everything feels fast, but inside our walls, we try to keep a steady pace. It’s a group of people who have worked together for years, so we do not need many formal meetings to know what needs doing. It is a plain, functional environment for everyone.
