Somya Creations

Somya Creations is our small workspace located in Basavanagudi. You can find us on JV Road, right in Khot Lane. It’s a bit of a quiet corner, which is nice when we are trying to get things finished. The building is older, but it has a lot of character. We do a lot of creative work here, mostly things involving fabrics and designs. There are usually piles of material and thread everywhere you look. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We started out small and just stayed in this same spot because the rent is fair and the neighbors are friendly. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when we take a break. The light in the afternoon is really good for seeing the colors of the thread properly. We don’t have a big showroom or anything like that. People usually come in with an idea of what they want, and we sit down at the big table to figure out how to make it happen. Sometimes the sewing machines are loud, so we have to talk over them. If you’re coming to see us, just look for the small sign near the entrance of the lane. We’re usually there until late if we have a big order to finish. It’s just how we work. We don't worry about being fancy, we just like making things that look right.
