At Slv Ceramics, we spend our days surrounded by crates of tiles and stone. Our yard is at 117/1 Chikka Bellandur, right on the Sarjapur Main Road near the Carmelaram Post. It’s a dusty place because of all the construction going on in this area. Trucks are constantly coming in and out, dropping off heavy loads. My hands are usually a bit rough from moving the samples around. We don't have a shiny showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a practical warehouse where people come to see what’s actually available. I’ve been working here for quite some time now. The Sarjapur road has changed a lot since we opened, getting much busier every year. We just keep doing what we do, which is helping people find something that works for their floors or walls. There are no sales pitches here. We just show you what we have and tell you the price. Sometimes we run out of certain items and have to wait for the next shipment, which can be frustrating. The staff here are mostly local guys who know the materials well. We eat our lunch together in the small shed out back. It’s hard work and the days are long, but there is something satisfying about seeing a project come together with the stuff we sold.
