Silicon Granites

Silicon Granites is tucked away in the II Phase of the Jigani Industrial Area. Building No- 98 V is where we spend our days. Jigani is a rough place if you don't like noise and heavy trucks. There’s always a layer of stone dust on the windows. We deal with big granite slabs, and moving them around with the forklift takes up most of our morning. The yard is big but it feels small when we have too much inventory sitting there. We’ve got the cutting machines in the back, and they make a constant humming sound that you just get used to after a while. The guys wear heavy boots because you don't want to drop anything on your feet here. We don't have a fancy showroom with carpets or anything like that. It’s just concrete floors and stone. In the rainy season, the roof leaks a little bit in the corner, so we have to move the paperwork. It’s an industrial life. We talk to the other business owners nearby about the traffic on the Anekal Taluk roads. Most of the day is spent checking the measurements of the slabs and making sure the polish is even. It’s physical work, and we’re usually pretty tired by the time we lock up the gates at night.
