I started this because I wanted a space that was easy for me to get to without having to go all the way into the city center. It is not a huge corporate office with hundreds of people. Instead, it is a modest space where we focus on the work we have in front of us. My desk is usually a mess of papers and cables, but I know where everything is. We don't really do the whole suit-and-tie thing; it's mostly jeans and casual shirts around here. Sometimes we take a long lunch break when the weather is nice, and other times we stay late to finish up a job that took longer than we thought. It’s a practical way of working. We’ve had our ups and downs like any small business, but we keep showing up every day. It’s a local operation, run by people who actually live in the community and care about what they do.
