Sheetal Marbles

We have been set up here at Harappanhalli Village for a good while now. It is a busy enough spot in Jigani Hobli, though it gets quite dusty with all the stone moving in and out every day. Sheetal Marbles is not some fancy office with air conditioning. It is just us working with slabs and tiles on the yard. My cousin and I started this out pretty small. We deal with various kinds of marble that people come down to Annekal Taluk to see. Sometimes the heavy rain makes the work a bit slow, but we keep at it regardless. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. We are just some guys who know how to load trucks and check for cracks. If you come by No. 70 and 71, you will see stacks of stone everywhere. It is heavy work, honestly. We spend a lot of our time checking the edges of the pieces to make sure they are not chipped before they leave. It gets pretty loud when the machines are running. We usually have our tea around four in the afternoon when the sun starts to drop a bit. Most of our customers are local builders or families doing up their kitchens. We just tell them what is available and let them look for themselves. We have seen the area change a lot over the years. It is a simple life here, just focus on the slabs.
