Sedvik Engineers is tucked away in Banaswadi, and if you know this part of town, you know it’s a mix of houses and small shops. Our workshop isn't massive, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. It gets a bit cramped when we have several projects going at once, with tools scattered on the workbenches and grease on most of the surfaces. That is just how an engineering shop looks when people are actually working. We spend most of our hours fixing parts or trying to figure out why a particular piece isn't fitting the way it should. There is a lot of trial and error involved in what we do. It isn't always pretty, and sometimes we leave at night with our clothes smelling like oil and metal shavings. Banaswadi has changed a lot over the years, becoming more crowded, but we’ve stayed right here. We like being local. You can usually find one of us standing out front for a quick breather or talking to a neighbor about the traffic. We don't have a fancy reception desk or a person to answer phones in a professional voice. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up, usually with a wrench still in their other hand. It is a straightforward way of living for us. We just focus on the mechanical side of things and try to get through the list of jobs we have lined up for the week.
