We are up on the second floor of the Annapoorneshwari Complex in Bommanahalli. It’s room 202 if you’re looking for us. Being on the second floor means we carry a lot of stuff up and down those stairs, which keeps us fit I guess. Bommanahalli is a crowded place, but we like it here. There’s always someone needing a bit of work done on their place. Most of our jobs are just regular houses or maybe a small office that’s looking a bit dull. We started this because we liked working with our hands. It’s not just about slapping paint on a wall; you have to prep it right or it just peels off in a year. We spend a lot of time scraping and sanding before we even open a tin of paint. People sometimes ask why it takes so long, but they see the difference once it’s done. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know what we’re doing. The complex where we are based is pretty easy to find if you know the landmark. We usually leave the shop early in the morning and don't get back until it’s starting to get dark. It’s a long day, especially when it’s hot outside, but that’s the life of a painter. We just take things one room at a time and try to stay out of the way of the families living there. It’s simple work and we just try to be honest about how long things take and what it will cost.
