Our shop is at number 9 on the 8th Cross in Sudham Nagar. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads. We deal with various trading goods, mostly things people need for their daily lives or small businesses. The space inside is quite filled up with sacks and crates. We’ve been here for a long time, so the walls have some scuffs and the floor is worn down. It’s just how a working shop looks. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. Most of our time is spent talking to suppliers and making sure we have enough of the popular items in stock. When a customer comes in, we usually know exactly what they are looking for before they even ask. We have a small counter where we do all the billing. It’s all done by hand in a notebook. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it's slow, just watching the neighborhood go by. The 8th Cross has a lot of houses, so we see the same faces every day. We try to keep things honest and simple. If we don't have something, we tell people where else they might find it. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us handling everything from cleaning to accounting. We like the pace of life here in Sudham Nagar. It’s steady and we know what to expect each morning when we pull up the shutters and start the day’s work.
