S V Granites

Working at S V Granites means dealing with a lot of heavy stone every day. We are located at 68 Bommanahalli Rajendra Nagar, Boriwali East, right near the Akshya Apartments. The yard is always a bit dusty because of the cutting and polishing. We have slabs of granite leaning against the walls in all sorts of colors. It is cold work in the winter and very hot in the summer since we are mostly outdoors or in open sheds. You can hear the sound of the water sprayers and the grinders from down the road. We spend our time measuring pieces and loading them onto trucks for building sites. It’s hard on the hands and the boots don't last very long on this floor. We aren't a big flashy company; we are just a local yard where people come to pick out stone for their kitchens or floors. Sometimes families come by from the nearby apartments to look at samples. We try to keep the place organized, but with stone this heavy, it stays where it is for a while. The traffic in Bommanahalli can be a headache when we are trying to get deliveries out. We usually close up when the sun goes down because it gets hard to see the patterns in the stone properly. It’s basic, physical work, but we’ve gotten used to the weight of it all over the years.
