S M M Muneer Tarpaulins Stitching

Down here at 125 Dadiseth Agiary Lane in Shivaji Nagar, things stay pretty busy with the sound of sewing machines running all day. At S M M Muneer Tarpaulins Stitching, we deal with a lot of heavy material that most people wouldn’t even want to touch. It’s tough work on the hands but it’s what we do. The lane is narrow and crowded so getting big rolls of fabric in and out is always a bit of a challenge. We have been in this spot for a while now and the locals know where to find us when the rain starts coming or they need something covered up for their trucks. The floor is usually covered in scraps of green and blue plastic and thread that we have to sweep up every evening. It isn't a quiet place by any means. There is always someone shouting over the noise of the traffic or the machines. We take the measurements and get to work right away because people usually need their tarps yesterday. We don't really bother with fancy signs or anything like that. The work speaks for itself when the water stays out. Some days the heat in the shop gets a bit much but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. It’s a specialized kind of job and not many people have the patience for it anymore. We just keep stitching and getting the orders out to whoever needs them.
